We’re still catching up on all the latest from the world’s top designers, and spring 2016 is looking bright. And although many labels opted for pieces that transcend seasonal limitations, there’s no denying certain trends that always emerge. From sleepwear to ruffles, tie dye to pink, check out what’s hot for spring 2016.
Lace is one of those things that kind of sticks around every season. But this time around, designers took it to the next level, with an emphasis on romanticism and an even more sensual edge.
Going off of the lacy negligé we’ve seen this season, some designers took it one step further, all the way to the bedroom. From pajama-like suiting to seemingly ubiquitous slip dresses, spring 2016 is looking quite comfortable. Just try not to actually doze off.
The Turn of the Century
Slip dresses weren’t the only 90s staple that emerged this season, with some designers going grungy, others resurfacing the fanny pack, and even more delving into bright colors and cooky prints. But it wasn’t just about the 90s, as late-80s nightlife garb seemed to be making a comeback, too. Whatever the year, the bold colors and dramatic silhouettes from the turn of the 20th century are certainly back in the limelight.
When the weather gets warmer, there’s no denying tie-dye is one of those things we’ll start seeing more of. But this isn’t tacky hippie gear, rather luxe revisions that appear almost hand-painted. Giving us beachy good vibes, the latest range of designer dye is looking pleasant AF.
All That Glitters
Glamor never goes out of style, and we got a serious reminder this season. From gilded to glittery, chainmail to hand-beaded embellishments, we’re sure to see a lot more glitz this time around.
Not into sequins and sparkles? Well, plenty of designers have got you covered, offering a more sleek option for shine. Modern, often futuristic, chrome may just be the way to go this season.
Not Your Father’s Pinstripes
Once a staple for mobsters and businessmen, pinstripes are getting a revival thanks to our favorite designer friends. Still maintaining the sophistication but ditching the stuffiness, these stripes provide modern, sleek options for your proper attire.
Jump on It
Whether military-style or just plain comfy, jumpsuits have been taking the fashion world by storm for a couple seasons now. And as of spring 2016, designers aren’t letting up. So suit up and get ready, because your wardrobe’s bound to get a lot easier (and a lot more aerodynamic).
The Ruffle Effect
Lace isn’t the only romantic, feminine thing that’s come out of the spring 2016 shows. Often with a Latin flare, ruffles have popped up everywhere from New York to Paris. Put on your dancing shoes, because whether it’s salsa or flamenco, your ballroom attire’s just gotten a high fashion upgrade.
The Cold Shoulder
Who said showing skin has to mean super skimpy? This season’s abundance of off-the-shoulder tops makes for the perfect alternative to an otherwise revealing ensemble.
