Guys, can we talk about one of the most epic videos ever? Our favorite badgal is back, and she’s not fucking around. Just like every other single that the singer (apparently now trap artist?) puts out, we all fell in love with Rihanna’s bumping new track when it first debuted a couple months back. And now the infectious tune seems even better, bolstered by something of a short film directed by the star herself. It’s sexual, it’s violent, it’s over-the-top, and it’s kind of everything.

Rihanna’s Fall 2013 River Island Collection

Aside from owning the music charts, Rihanna has evolved into quite the fashion icon throughout her career. Her fashion sense is typically on point, which made some of the scathing reviews of her first collection for River Island so surprising. We can’t exactly say that badgalriri’s crop tops and maxi skirts were the most inspiring fashion pieces, but as always, it’s likely that the superstar doesn’t give a fuck. So, she keeps churning out new designs for the London-based retailer, and they’ve got “Riri” written all over them…literally.

The singer’s nickname appears on many sweatshirts and beanies, which were probably included to remind us that despite the collection’s revealing nature, it is meant for the fall. In addition to the namesake motif, Rihanna threw in some “G4Life” logos, derived from her own song titled “G4L.” There’s also some seasonably appropriate bomber jackets and boots, juxtaposed with all of those bras and belly shirts, along with an uncalled for camouflage cameo. Co-designed with Adam Selman, Rihanna’s fall 2013 collection for River Island is basically just more of her personal style made commercially available. Whether fashion critics like it or not, that style is something that a lot of girls want to emulate, and it’s likely that people will be all over “Riri x River Island.”

The campaign for Rihanna’s fall 2013 River Island collection, shot by Lachlan Bailey and styled by Mel Ottenberg, was directed by Rihanna herself. Meanwhile, it stars Ji Hye Park, Nyasha Matonhodze, Milou van Grossen, Tati Cotliar. Check it out!

Rihanna, often known as @badgalriri, is always one to make a spectacle. Meanwhile, she’s also become something of a style icon within the past few years. So, it’s not surprising that the seven costumes for her Diamonds World Tour are custom pieces by some of fashion’s most coveted designers. Riri’s stylist, Mel Ottenberg explains that the varied styles are meant to match the multifaceted musical genres the singer incorporates; from dancehall to EDM to rock ‘n’ roll, Rihanna is seen in a mélange of graphic tee’s, holographic neon, and leather accents to fit each sound.

Riccardo Tisci contributes to the costume collection with a custom Givenchy Haute Couture cape for one look and an embroidered Givenchy Haute Couture coat worn with a bra, a sheer skirt, shorts, and boots for another. Rihanna’s go-to costume designer, Adam Selman created an outfit of a leather bra and pants, which she wore with custom white Manolo Blahnik boots. Selman also put together a red jersey top and skirt for Rihanna, as well as a holographic dollar-bill-print dress, which was paired with custom Pierre Hardy sneakers. Raf Simons got in on the action, too, and @badgalriri rocked a sheer jersey t-shirt dress by the Christian Dior designer with Christian Louboutin boots and a Michael Schmidt nameplate necklace (the boots and necklace were also custom-made, of course). Finally, Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz designed a jumpsuit, a belt, and several necklaces just for Riri.

With all of the immense details in each piece, Rihanna basically has her own haute couture collection exclusively for her Diamonds World Tour. I think it’s safe to say that a Rihanna concert is also a fashion show.
