Art is universal. A work of art must be entirely conceived and shaped by the mind before its execution. A pictorial element does not have any meaning beyond “itself”; as a consequence, a painting does not have any meaning other than “itself.”
The Madí modern art movement originated in Argentina in 1946, an art form that is non-figurative and non-representational, with a strong emphasis on geometrical abstraction. Characterized by cut-outs and irregular shapes, which takes away the viewer’s perception of spatial depth that a rectangular frame provides, colors are typically flat and sharply defined, while it is often three-dimensional.
